Biography: Rita Kae Restrepo, BS, RN

Rita Kae Restrepo, BS, RN, is a PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) nurse with over 40 years of active clinical experience. For the majority of her career, she worked at San Francisco General Hospital in the Burn Unit, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Coronary Care Unit, and PACU, frequently assuming the Relief Charge Nurse role. She left San Francisco General Hospital in June of 2015. She was recognized and received commendation from Jackie Speier, a member of the US House of Representatives, for services and treatments rendered to the survivors of the Asiana Flight 214 crash at San Francisco International Airport in July of 2013. Rita Kae continued working at San Leandro Surgery Center, an ambulatory care center until November 2021.

Ms. Restrepo lectures throughout Northern California on many clinical and Legal Nurse Consultant issues. She works as a Legal Nurse Consultant providing expert witness testimony and chart review for both plaintiff and defense law firms throughout the continental United States. Ms. Restrepo’s skills and presence in deposition and on the witness stand have made her a much sought after expert witness in medical malpractice cases, not only involving the PACU but also in the Medical-Surgical and Intensive Care Unit. She has worked on a number of legal cases involving charge nurses and will share her perspectives on the legal issues related to nursing issues.

In her free time, Rita Kae’s passion is playing golf and spending time with her family and friends. Rita Kae stays active with cross-fit training and Qi Gong exercises as she strongly believes in balance between spiritual, physical and wholesome well-being.
